A good week just finished in Les Gets, France for the 5th round of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup.

The track here was a bit on the old school style with grassy corners.
Simon had rode this track for Crankworx the year before so he knew what to expect.

Alex was freshly recovering from his big crash in Andorra.

It was good to see Sik Mik back! He was riding very fast and smooth all week with a 4th place at the timed run. Mick felt good for his race and was pretty excited to make it to the live show on Redbull TV. Mick’s run was very fast at the top but a slow woods would cost him precious seconds.

Tracey was a bit struggling at the beginning to find her rhythm on this track but it didn’t take long to come back. The news of the injury of Rachel Atherton on a dangerous last jump at the finish came as a shock, from there it definitely did put things in perspectives and the strategy was to ride clever and fast. This is what Tracey did, she won qualifying scoring some good points towards her lead in the overall. Her time was tight with Marine Cabirou so she knew she would need a solid run to win on Saturday.

For the final, Tracey kept it together and pulled a solid and steady run, winning the race by a small margin and taking the maximum points towards the overall. She consolidates her #1 position with a 200 points lead.

It’s now time to pack for a 2 weeks break before the next World Cup. Our french riders are off to their National championships.
Thanks to all for the support!
